Calling all Mothers

Ok moms out there, what is the best/cheapest way to buy diapers and wipes etc.? Any other ways that you save a little here and there with a new baby? Thanks!!

I know everyone is different, but I really like the Wal-Mart brand of diapers, Parent's Choice, and they are the cheapest I have found. I will usually buy Huggies diapers until they will fit into a size one, then just do the Parent's Choice diapers and wipes in as large of quantities possible (box of wipes, and I think you can't buy boxes of the diapers until size 2 or three, I'm not sure). I wouldn't suggest getting cheap diapers for newborns though because they can sometimes have some major blowouts and if the diaper doesn't fit tight enough or has enough stretch to them, you will have a huge mess! That's my two cents on diapers. I guess you just learn what you like though! As far as saving money elsewhere, I'm sure not saving any money on formula right now because we go through a BIG can of formula in 4 days! Ouch! I just have to think, okay only three more months until they can have regular milk! Can't wait for that!

Costco has great wipes that are really cheap... As for diapers, if you watch Walgreens they usually have diapers on sale. My aunt says the Walgreens brand are good, I haven't tried them and like last week they were 2 packs for $9.00 and then there was a rebate at the Pharmacy counter making them $2.50 a package. Also, you can check coupons.com for huggies coupons and at huggies.com you can subscribe to their network and get $1.50 coupons in the mail that way. The costco brand diapers also work well. With girls you can be a little more versitile than with boys... Girls don't pee out of them as easily. Call me if you have any question!

I usually go with Luv's. They are on the cheaper side also. I do what Tasha does and use huggies or pampers when they ar really small but once they hit a size one I use Luv's. I've never had a problem with leaking wth Luv's so that is the only tip on that. As for wipes I usually go with huggies. You can buy a box of them at wal-mart around $8.

I almost don't have to leave a comment 'cause I do exactly what Danette does! Like the luv's motto goes....Live, Learn, and then get Luv's! :) I use the huggies wet wipe coupons though that they send you all the time too! Good Luck!

Hey Danielle! i really like the costco diapers! they are kirkland brand and they come with a TON! just a little bit ago i wondered if i should get another box of that many when carsons growing so fast, i did get one and since we go through diapers so fast its totally worth it to get a big box. I would start getting them at size 1 though cuz they don't stay in newborn very long. good luck with everything!

Okay...take with a grain of salt! I totally agree with the Costco wipes...they are great and very portable. As for diapers...every child is a little different. What works for one doesn't work for another. For us, the cheaper stuff simple didn't work as well and we end up with a lot more laundry. So, it's Pampers for us( and don't worry...you will be bombarded with coupons). So...I guess what I am saying is...baby girl(Alexa?)will just have let you know for sure!

I go to costco for both diapers and wipes...kirkland brand...cheap and large quantities.

Kirkland wipes from costco. We went through a whole box of them the first few weeks, but after that it tapered off, and now we only go through one box of wipes every 2 months, which is nice. As for diapers, the cheap ones don't work for Spencer either, he is always peeping out of them unless I change him every 2 hours (which he doesn't need as a 1 year old). So we go with the kirkland brand or huggies. Both have worked great for us. I haven't ever tried Luvs though, so maybe I will do that due to all the comments.
